Short Review:
- Sizzling mushroom chicken rice with egg - ⭐⭐ (2 out of 5)
- 3-layer tea - ⭐⭐ (2 out of 5)
- Verdict: Won’t repeat the sizzling shop, but will probably try another drink from the drink stall.
Long Review:
The first bite I took from the food is the sauce. It’s on the runny side, but
not too runny—just an acceptable consistency. At first, the taste was pretty
good. But when I tried eating it with the rice, I suddenly tasted something
unpleasant. It had this strange, almost rotten flavor that I can’t quite
describe. Then, when I took another bite from a different part of the
rice, the unpleasant taste wasn’t there. I’m not sure what caused it—maybe the
plate wasn’t cleaned thoroughly? I don't know. The chickens and mushrooms
tasted fine. It tasted like chicken and mushroom. Overall, my favorite part of
the dish was the egg. It was half-cooked and tasted really good. If I had to
compare it to the sizzling dishes at Alamanda Food Court, the Alamanda Food
Court version tastes better.
As for the drink, it tasted like bubble tea but with way too much milk. If it
had been less milky, I probably would have finished the drink.
Some additional info: the sizzling stall doesn’t provide regular cutlery—only
plastic ones. I was a bit shock because eating sizzling hot food with plastic?
That's so weird.
Today is my last day for ganti puasa, and I came to work late, meaning
I would have to leave late as well. While on my way, I thought it might be
nice to break my fast at a restaurant for a change. The nearest restaurant is
only 5 minutes away, but the time to break fast is still 59 minutes away. It
was too early to go there, so I thought it might be a good opportunity to
visit Food Valet Putrajaya at Presint 4, a place I've been
wanting to try since last year. Google Maps says it’s only
17 minutes away, including traffic.
The journey that was supposed to take just 17 minutes turned into almost
1 hour! It was 6:23 PM, and everyone was heading home from work. As I
was exiting the Cyberjaya Park & Ride, the traffic jam in front of the
traffic light was no joke. Even though the light was green, I couldn’t cross
the intersection because all the lanes were full of cars. If I kept going, I
would end up stopping in the middle of the intersection. Then, somewhere
before Setia Eco Glade, I think there was an accident. I didn’t see
an ambulance, but there were cones beside the road and some bloodstains.
After that, the traffic started moving a little smoothly, but I got lost a
few times before reaching Putrajaya because I wasn’t familiar with the
roads, and the maps were giving confusing directions.
When I finally reached Putrajaya, I crossed the Seri Saujana Bridge.
It was my
first time driving in Putrajaya after getting my driver’s license. It was quite a scenery. It turns out there are so many
bridges in Putrajaya that I had to Google which one I had just crossed!
Only a few kilometers after that bridge, I reached the entrance to
Food Valet. The entrance was quite small due to cars parking along the side
of the road. Despite the crowd, I found parking easily, probably because the
parking area uses an open space rather than designated parking spots.
After getting out of my car, I was amazed by how huge the place was and how
many people were there! Despite the crowd, there were many empty seats and
tables. At first, I thought about eating nasi ayam kicap from
Keycap's, as I've been seeing its ads on my Instagram and have
been dying to try it since last year, as an alternative to Tiga Budak Gemok
(3BG). I love 3BG, but the branch here in Cyberjaya is the worst. However, I
felt overwhelmed by the crowds and anxious walking around alone, so I
couldn’t find the stall. I just kept walking around and decided to buy
something near where I found a table. In the end, I got a 3-layer tea and
sizzling mushroom chicken rice with egg.
