Short Review:
- Club Sandwich - ⭐⭐⭐ (3 out of 5)
- Verdict: Will repeat if I crave for sandwich from nearest shop.
Long Review:
This sandwich is huge! It’s made with three slices of hearty wheat bread, tomatoes, roasted chicken, sliced ham, a sunny-side-up egg, salad, and salad dressing. The flavor is simple, like a homemade sandwich—but I don’t mean that in a negative way! It has a twist with a hint of tanginess, almost like a citrus flavor, similar to orange. It reminded me of ToastMaker’s chicken toast, which actually includes a slice of orange in their sandwich. However, the citrus flavor here is not too strong, so it complements the salad dressing, tomatoes, chicken, egg, and ham well.
That said, the ham and chicken don't have much flavor—they mainly provide protein and texture. I also want to mention that I HATE TOMATOES—any dish that uses tomatoes as its base isn’t to my liking (like marinara sauce or Bolognese). But I could actually eat the tomatoes in this sandwich! They weren’t sour, and they were cut into smaller pieces, so when I bit into them, the juices didn’t gush out into my mouth. It was just perfect for handling the tangy flavor.
This sandwich also comes with fries and salad. I don’t like vegetables, but the salad looked appetizing, and it actually made me want to taste it. It mostly tastes like olives, and I happen to like olives. I always order them when I get Subway, so this felt similar.
As for the fries, they were heavily seasoned with salt (which I like), but they weren’t cooked long enough to be crispy. The texture was a bit sad and mushy, like McDonald's fries when they’re cold. I actually finished the fries before digging into my sandwich because I figured they wouldn’t taste good if I left them too long.
It was a filling and healthy dish, offering great value for the price, though I could only manage to eat half of the sandwich. On the plus side, it saved me some money since I refrigerated the other half to have for breakfast tomorrow.
Nothing.
